Acer predator

High end gaming PCs are big, bold and, well, over the top on everything. The Acer-Predator is no exception.

Looking like a mix of something out of 'Transformers' and a Flymo lawn mower, this heavy armoured gaming rig ticks off all the boxes in being a gaming machine.

The Predator boasts a metallic copper coloured housing, some sharp lines and a ‘flip-up’ front cover reminiscent of the wing-doors on Ferraris.

There’s a Blu-Ray drive built in, easy-swap hard drive bay at the bottom and Dual LAN technology for blistering speeds.

The gaming system is pretty customisable, though by default incorporates an Intel Core2 Extreme quad-core processor and choice of SLI graphics configurations up to nForce G9800GX2.

To keep all of this stuff from melting all over the floor Acer has developed a liquid cooling system that guarantees safe operation even after overclocking, and is rated for over five years of continuous operation without pump failure or coolant evaporation.

Prices start at around £1350 up to £3,200 for the highest spec and it’s expected to beat its way into stores in June.
